UPSWING Supports SEEN Program for Students in Foster Care

SEEN is a program that was started by a group of students at Overland High School who have experienced some form of trauma related to being in foster care. Through an action research project, they created a mentorship program for elementary school students who have also been in foster care.

Through their research, SEEN students found that only 23% of students in Colorado who have been in foster care graduate high school, and their mission was to change that by creating a mentorship program.

They recently took a group of 5th graders on an outdoor expeditionary learning activity to learn about Colorado history and the great outdoors. UPSWING is funding their grant to help connect people and catapult dreams.
