What Are Mile High Prep and the Prep Super League?

Young athletes in Colorado have more options than ever to elevate their game and strengthen their competitive edge. One emerging and innovative initiative is the Prep Super League (PSL), which is making waves in the youth sports scene.

Last year’s PSL champion and the Colorado-based team, Mile High Prep, is a program that is going above and beyond to provide top-tier opportunities for student-athletes, emphasizing well-rounded development that reaches beyond regular in-season football training. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at Mile High Prep, the Prep Super League, their starting timelines, and why off-season or year-round sports performance training is becoming essential for all athletes — from soccer players to Mile High Prep football standouts.

Mile High Prep: A Closer Look

Mile High Prep (MHP) is a Colorado-based All-Star football team that features Colorado’s top high school football players. MHP is the Denver franchise of the Prep Super League, which is composed of the top high school football athletes in the state. With a top-notch coaching staff, MHP went 5-0 in its first season. MHP is owned by UPSWING Foundation, which is focused on providing young athletes in Colorado with state-of-the-art facilities — such as UPSWING Centennial — and training to help them reach their full potential.

This year, Mile High Prep looks to continue its dominance with the first game of the season taking place on Saturday, April 12, in Los Angeles. If you’re interested in supporting Mile High Prep this season, consider attending one of the home games or buying something from the shop!

The Prep Super League: Elevating Competition

The Prep Super League (PSL) is a youth football league in which the best high school players in the country compete for their cities and states. Unlike traditional leagues that revolve exclusively around the fall season, Prep Super League football takes place in the spring and sees high school students traveling to different states to play the best of the best in the country.

PSL is a first-of-its-kind national high school football league. It’s an elite, 11-on-11 spring football league for top college football prospects seeking enhanced competition and maximum exposure. It provides a national platform for players to build their personal brand and pursue NIL opportunities with fewer restrictions, and an alternative path for securing a college football scholarship. Ultimately, the Prep Super League is structured to help players gain an edge through unique opportunities to play against the best high school players in the country.

UPSWING Foundation’s Core Programs

In addition to the ownership of Mile High Prep, we also specialize in creating programs that help young athletes build a strong foundation in athletic development across the board. Our youth sports performance training programs offer sessions year-round, empowering athletes to incorporate agility and strength work into their routines without conflicting with on-field demands. Powered by our elite partners at SPARK, our youth dance programs offer a range in style, difficulty levels and age groups, ensuring the breakdown of unfailing fundamentals necessary to succeed in any dance team program. Our state-of-the-art facility — UPSWING Centennial — is the first dedicated space built to deliver the UPSWING experience to aspiring athletes of all backgrounds in Denver and the surrounding communities with world-class services in sports performance, dance, and recovery.

In addition to on-site sessions, we provide resources to make training more accessible. UPSWING Foundation offers sports performance training and dance scholarships to ensure more athletes can participate regardless of financial barriers. Why Sports Performance Training Matters

Many parents and athletes wonder why they should invest in sports performance training if they already practice regularly with their in-season coaches. The short answer: sports performance training is sports agnostic and supports all types of athletes.

  1. Improved Speed and Agility: According to studies, targeted speed and agility drills can significantly boost quickness on the field when practiced consistently.
  2. Injury Prevention: Studies show that structured strength and conditioning programs can reduce the risk of sports-related injuries by as much as 46%.
  3. Enhanced Endurance: Whether you play basketball, soccer, football, or another sport, enhanced endurance directly translates to better performance in the final minutes of a game.
  4. Mental Toughness: Performance training often includes mental conditioning exercises, improving focus and confidence under pressure.

Unlike sport-specific instruction, which emphasizes techniques and strategies tied to a single sport (e.g., shooting drills in basketball or passing routes in football), performance training focuses on fundamental movement patterns, core stability, and overall athleticism. This approach not only boosts performance in one discipline but also equips athletes with the physical tools to excel in multiple sports or adapt to changing demands in their chosen field.

Embrace the Future of Youth Athletics

As the demand for new and unique sports leagues continues to grow, Mile High Prep and the Prep Super League are poised to kick off their second season and continue to revolutionize football for young athletes in Colorado and around the country. Providing these players with a national spotlight and a unique opportunity to play around the country helps to prepare them for the next step in their athletic journey. Support Mile High Prep this year by attending a home game, purchasing gear from the shop, or participating in our partnership program!

We know access to sports, education, and other opportunities is too often limited by barriers such as socioeconomic factors. We also know all kids should have an equal opportunity to experience sports, to learn and grow, to connect with others, and to discover and pursue their dreams.

Our mission is to develop strong, confident, successful student-athletes who are able to give back to their communities in meaningful ways. We can do that by crushing barriers that limit access. We work to crush those barriers by:

  • Developing high-quality programming to support athletes, their families, and our communities
  • Creating world-class amateur sports campuses that integrate multiple sports, fields, training, and educational spaces
  • Ensuring access to programming and facilities through dedicated scholarship and support programs
  • Partnering with and supporting like-minded organizations to create opportunities for aspiring athletes and our communities
